so what's the missing letter?? loool .. I really don't know how to start this .. or what do I have to say .. it's a series of events that can't be mentioned in one post .. all I see and hear in my dreams is cccccccccccccccc............. :(( .. really I can't get it out of my mind and the poor letter C got all the blame lol .. I wish there was a way to delete it from the alphabetical order .. my big question is who invented this exam that included every single thing we took for 3 years for 6 subjects .. I mean we're human beings and the capacity that our brains can withstand is limited .. of course i'm excluding people who are geniuses .. let's talk about normal people with a normal IQ ok?? .. how do you think our performance on a grand exam such as this one will be .. add to it everything else such as stress , anxiety , lack of sleep, backache, stomachache , irritable bowl diseases lol .. and what else? mm..... too much eating , weight gaining , not shaving --> this is for both males and females =p .. well Im sure anyone in 6th year will be recognized by how awful and tired they look .. just look at their faces and you'll just know that those are 6th year students .. this is the pre exam syndrome .. the week preceding the exam this is everyone's condition .. its a common syndrome that everyone goes through at a time of your student life .. if you have gone through it already .. im sure you're dancing from joy and don't want to recall those days .. while the ones who still didn't reach there .. all i can say is god be with you guys .. really wish you the best of luck lol .. the ones who are there are living in their own world now and they are not aware of anything around them ... the rest is coming on my next post ..

It was one fine morning .. I woke up and went to college to take my lectures .. It was boring as usual .. so I stepped out for a break .. suddenly there was a guy standing right there few meters away from me .. was I supposed to panic lool .. not really because this is how things has turned out to be now after the flood .. the girls section has been damaged and there's an internal error with the elecrtiricity and here we are .. education can never stop .. right ?? .. we were forced to be taking our lectures in their buildings .. somehow this rain made us civilized and become a modern college lool .. and you can say it's a dream come true to some people =P .. at first some people I won't mention their names got really pissed from this idea and were opposing it .. I guess they couldn't sleep at night from nightmares of boys and girls exposed to each other looool .. but eventually they were out of choices .. it started with what they call strict rules such as girls going there as a group not wandring around individually .. and of course girls were asked to walk around silently without laughing or speaking in a loud voice to not grab attention to them .. really I don't know how to comment on that .. it reminded me of the days when we were in elementary schools .. what's missing is that we should walk around forming a line ( 6aboor al madrasa ) lool .. and of course guys had some rules too .. they were asked to stay inside their classes at specific times when girls pass by to their classes .. how lame !! .. they thought they had control over the situation .. but hey .. i'm talking logic .. how can they control over 300 students including guys and girls ?? it's impossible .. rain has made the impossible possible .. it's really weird how things has really changed .. after the great wall of china that was built last year between 6th year males and females .. It all went down the drain =p .. and I can say I'm glad this happened because eventually they will meet and work together so why make a big fuss about it ?? right ?? .. Maybe people may misuse the situation but also there are some advantages out of it .. you can know who are your classmates instead of meeting them in the first time during the internship .. and I'm sure marriage rate will increas tremendously looool .. so always look at the bright side !!

hello guys . It's been a very long time since i wrote anything because I was really out of ideas .. but heey there's a lot to gossip about right now lol . I guess all of you who are still in the univeristy have witnessed the situation now after jeddah's flood .. and what happened this tuesday was really hilarious and it honestly added some action to the atmosphere =p ..
the sky has started to become cloudy since 11 am , but we can't skip any classes or sessions because education is the main purpose and concern in our lives , so what if we risked our lives for the sake of learning ?? right ?? :S lol , people have noticed it but still everything was going smoothly as any other day .. around 2 pm , it was broadcasted in the news that a heavy rain was expected anytime this day .. and suddenly it all happened .. people started yelling and panicking .. someone was actually walking around yelling ( please within half an hour the university must be evacuated !! it's an order from upper hand people that all the sessions must be cancelled ) everyone wanted to leave to their homes .. chaos was everywhere .. cell phones ringing like crazy .. black berry's are goin wild with broadcasts announcing that everyone must be at their homes .. personally everyone was calling asking me where I am because they were worried about me .. wich added more to my anxiety lol .. I admit I was from the people who panicked =p .. I have seen weird statuses in the bbms that said ( I don't wanna die !! ) lool .. I went downstairs to get to the car and a huge number of people standing there just waiting for their cars to arrives .. and of course the guys just grabbed their keys and left , as simple as that :s .. the tension has increased and the negative aura was everywhere .. thank god I got out of that place .. and eventually after everyone left to their homes nothing happened loool the rain was at night .. well it was an adventure worth writing about because it was really funny when I think about it .. I really hated that fact that they didn't think ahead and made us leave early when they first discovered the cloudy weather .. but education is more important than our lives !! after all it was an exaggerated over-reaction that wasn't necessary .. i guess people here in jeddah had become over sensitive of this matter .. some may stay at their homes afraid to drown if they saw a rain drop or heard from someone that it's raining somewhere else in jeddah .. what happened was really tragic and it occured all of the sudden and was totally unexpected so i guess we do have the right to get irritated from any rainy day .. stay tuned for my next post about what happened after the rain ;)

this is a question that popped up in my head yesterday .. when everyone came back from dubai .. i was wondering why this year ?? .. dubai has been organizing conferences for so many years annually .. so there is an international conference every year .. but this year a lof people went there .. from each year .. 4th , 5th ,6th year and interns .. i don't know what's wrong with 6th year -- they are supposed to be working .. but hey who am I to judge lol .. maybe they are ahead of everyone else and have alot of time to waste .. i guess what happened is that everyone heard of this conference and planned it as taking a trip together ..not for the conference itself because from what i heard it wasnt that special .. and i guess they didn't really attend all the lectures .. or some didn't attend at all .. all they did is show their face then took their certeficate on the last day --> typical =P and suddenly alot of guys went there too .. so what did really happen there???

At any given day.. anyone of us will wake up early in the morning.. get dressed.. scrubs of course.. come to school.. attend the lecture.. & set off to the clinic.. everything is set.. Infection control.. Instruments.. Lab Work.. Patient.. You!!

I was faced with a situation that i was confused wether i should be happy i'm finally done or i should reconsider repeating my work all over again .. a complete denture patient !!
This is my worst nightmare .. the worst type of them are the ones who has a bag full of dentures and always need new ones coz they are not comfortable with theirs ..
After wasting all of these sessions with the steps for constructing a complete denture , at the day of insertion the patient showed disapproval of the denture .. she started pointing out to me that it's painful and she's not comfortable with it .. i started removing the points of intereferences and pressure .. finally she said it's okay but i can see the look of discomfort in her face .. and i'm pretty sure she did say that because she was afraid of my supervisor lol .. of course i got my requirement but still i don't feel good about it .. am i being extra sensitive about it?? or should i be happy i finished a complete denture case? ...
i know it's a learning hospital and the patients do sign a conscent about being treated by students .. i do beleive we should try to give them the best treatment .. like the example of this patient .. alot of students wouldn't give a damn about her .. as long she got her reaquirment paper signed ..
And what's really sad is that when i called my complete patient from last year .. she told me she threw my denture away :S:S she didnt even bother to use it :(( ..
something is definately wrong with removable lool .. or maybe i'm just unlucky with this subject =P

one of the things that i really hate in our university is our grading system .. it's a very irrational system .. and i'm sure i'm not the only one complaining from it .. coz people who don't have the ability to memorize very well won't have a chance to make good grades .

we had this discussion last week .. some poeple do have photographic memory .. and they tend to memorize the page and the line where the answer exists .. but others have limited capacity of memorizing .. and those are the poeple who suffer .. most of your grade depend on the final written exam ,, it's ( THE exam) if you messed up then you won't get a good gpa eventually ..
some people faced this problem and what's sad about it is that they are extremely good in their clinical work .. they have the skills .. and they do understand what they're doing .. but they may get irritated and they can't function under stress .. or too much informations gets mixed up in their head ..

the grades must be distributed equally between clinical and written exam .. so it would be fair for all students .. and it should be distributed through the whole year ... like continuos assessment ..
and about 6th year that consitutes 60% of the grade is a very stupid idea .. coz it makes 6th year students suffer trying not to mess up this year coz their whole future depend on it .. if the student is an A+ student through all the years and in this final year she messed up .. then her effort and hard work through all these years is just wasted .. some poeple concentrate more on this year while they were playing before and raise their grades up dramatically ..

serious changes needs to be done to this system coz it's soo unfair to alot of students who spend alot of effort and time in their clinical work .. trying to finish their requirements through the whole year .. but didn't give much attention to the theoritical part .. if the requirements were not finished and you did well in the final exam you still have the chance to get an A

so i guess my advice is to concentrate more on studying the materials you're taking .. instead of the clinical work which constitute the least percentage of the final grade

This is something i noticed in myself .. i don't know if you all have it or not .. but i have two characters .. the prffesional role and the usual everyday role ..

In university i tend to put on a mask and play the proffesional role .. someone once told me that this is how i should pretend to be just to gain respect from the doctors or from the patients .. and even with my collegues .. the proffesional face is the serious face that shows responsibility and sense of authority .. with no sense of humor or anything .. someone i know once told me ( if i saw a good looking dentist i don't trust him ) lol i think it's funny actually coz being good looking has nothing to do with your work quality .. but patients have different prespectives in judging a good dentist .. they think a good dentist is the one who makes a quick and painless procedures .. not caring to know what's inside .. coz they come to the office and they're frightened already so when this person ease their pain and fear they worship him .. being gentle and nice is an important trait and you should also show that you have enough knowledge and experience .. always makes them hear what they wanna hear ..if she said she feels pain then she does .. give her more anaesthesia and don't just shut her and tell it's in your head you're anaesthetized .. even if you think you gave her enough pretend that you give her but don't inject lol .. i had this kind of patients and i've learnt how to deal with them ..

the other role is the real me ..well what can i say about myself .. a simple person and always trying to cheer up the people around me .. kinda living in my own world and i like making fun of people and talking to everyone .. i don't really care wether it's a guy or a girl but i have no boundaries .. you can say open - minded ... i dunno but i noticed myself being totally different person in the university .. cautious all the time .. and caring about my public image and what people say or think about me .. so i wear a stupid mask that i created for myself to keep this image .. i really hate it but i should live by the rules even if i think it's hypocrisy .. coz you can't change people's mentality .. if they're not open minded then they'll stay this way and nothing can change their opinion .. they will judge you and spread rumors about you and i really don't need this right now ..

i was thinking that day of popular people in college ... and it made me think what made them popluar ?? i was trying to link it with the high school movies which descriminate between the cool popular kids and the geeks =P .. but it doesn't work that way lool .. i figured we're all geeks and we're all together in this .. i discovered popular kids are the ones who have obvious characters .. like they have a sense of humor or they are the social kind who have connections and knows everyone.. or have their own distinguished style that made them special .. these people walk around and they know that everyone is looking at them and recognizing them .. they know they have the spotlights .. even all the doctors knows their name and their quality of work and their grades .. is this an advantage or disadvantage ??? when i think of it .. sometimes it occur to me what if i was one of these people .. i wouldn't really like it to be honest coz if you're not there or you thought of skipping a clinical session the doctors will notice and wonder where have you been .. if you're late they'll catch you coming in late =P .. if you wanna sleep in the lecture -> forget it , it's a really bad idea !!! .. coz they'll notice .. if you thought of doing anything someone will catch you and the words will spread about you ... so you should be cautious all the time coz people recognize you and they're watching you ...
on the other hand , being well known by the doctors can be useful , coz they would help out people they know more than the unknown people .. IF they like them of course .. you can contact them to know your mistakes or know your grades in a quiz for example .. get recommendation letters that could help you out in the future .. but when you think about it , eventually at the end of the year when they grade the exam papers they don't see the names ... and you're graded with what you have in the paper .. so everyone is treated equally and they're being fair with everyone wethere ur popular or not ..
so why do i want the spotlight??

lool i'm sure you all know what the hell i'm talking about ... if you don't you should go to the second floor and check the big blue wall of china that they placed there in between the males and females ... really it's useless coz it makes you wonder what's behind it .. when it's not there you wouldn't really care to look the other way .. but a human nature is what's forbidden is what you really want the most .. as they they say ( كل ممنوع مرغوب ) lool .. and i beleive in this saying .. first they moved the guyz to the same floor as the girls to make it easier for the doctors .. then ooh they realized they can actually see each other since they share the same reception .. so they placed this biiig partition in the middle of the reception which made it smaller than it is .. it was funny at the beginning lol .. then they moved the females reception far away so they won't come near that area .. i thought that was enough ,, but no the new development this week is the partition between the two elevators :P loool females can only use the right one and the males uses the left .. i dunno what's their next step ??? let's wait and see
some girls took it personally lol .. they thought they're doing this as part of accusing them of trying to check out the guys .. and the guys thought the same .. well it's stupid and what's more stupid is when we're interns we're allowed to sit together and communicate and work together as teams loool
weird people ... strange rules but we have to obey them anyways .. it's not like we have any other choice

So I'm back, I really missed this place, I thought it was just a phase, a reaction to the stress but now as I type these words I notice this feeling that I really truly missed this place.

tomorrow is my first day in the univeristy .. well actually in a few hours since it's alrady 5 am lol .. i've been asking myself this question ( am i ready??) lol i don't think i am .. a week ago i was really excited about the fact that we're gonna start soon .. coz i missed my friends and the univeristy is the only place that i can see them all on regular basis :P .. before yesterday when everyone was complaining about the school tomorrow which is yesterday i was bragging about me having one more week of vacation lol .. it's a strange feeling and it's the first time it happens that everyone's got to go to school except me .. i woke up today at 4 in the afternoon feeling great .. but i found the whole house is sleeping at that time coz they woke up early in the morning and went to school or work when i was sleeping .. it's pretty weird lol .. but still i don't think i'm ready .. this long summer made me very lazy .. i don't even want to think about anything .. my brain has actually stopped functioning .. .and i got completely disconnected from anything that has to do with dentistry .. i feel like i forgot everything .. i forgot how to hold my handpeice lool .. now i realized fun is over and i really need to be more serious coz it's time to work hard .. this year i'm gonna be a geek :D

why do people think that doctors are not smokers?? and i'm not just talking about ciagarrettes ,, it's either sheesha or m3assil .. it doesn't matter .. once i was talking to a friend of mine about smoking and she said how come you smoke you're a doctor and you are supposed to know it's not good for your health :S .. i told her that i don't but she has the wrong idea .. i know alot of doctors who smoke and they are heavy smokers .. and they are still students .. due to the stressful kind of life they're leading .. too much work and too much stress .. so they use it as an escape to relax .. i've seen alot of students smoking but not infront of everyone coz it's not allowed but you can see them behind house of donuts .. i always see a group of guyz gathering there at that area thinking no one can see them .. well it's an open place lol if you think about it we're still human beings ,, and do you think other people who are well educated but they're in another feild wouldn't know how does smoking harm your body .. we have media and alot of campaigns were done to educate people about this fact and they still smoke .. coz simply they don't really care about their health or they just chose not to consider this fact that they already know .. so doctors are the worse smokers if they got used to it and it's difficult for them to quit after they chose it as a way of escape from stress ..

i've always luved this month .. it's the holy month where you feel good and get closer to god .. but going to school while i'm fasting was the worst .. even if we don't have clinical sessions .. you have to concentrate to understand what the hell is the doctor saying .. and to concentrate you need energy which you don't have in the first place :P .. i always suffered from going to school coz i come back really tired and i wanna sleep till the maghrib and they wake me up by force to go and grab something to eat ..and honestly everything we take in ramadan is always not recorded in my memory lol i don't even recall taking it :P but this year it's quite different .. i'm really excited that i have the whole day for myself and i don't have to do anything .. i can sleep all day and stay up all night which is the normal situation for everyone in rama'9an .. this is the advantage of the current status .. i keep asking myself if i'm ready for this month or not ?? :S i'm not ,, coz i just came from abroad and it feels like it's still summer .. that's supposed to be for fun and beach lol but seriously fun is over .. i need to get serious and enroll myself into this new situation ..

it's a vacation and we're supposed to be spending our time outside and not stay at home everyday ... i'm glad my parents are somehow open-minded people and they would give me the permission to go wherever i want .. i realy love them :D .. but there is one problem standing in the way that there is no driver :(( .. this fact really piss me off coz it's unfair that here in this country we're bounded by the presence of the driver .. or maybe he's not in the mood to go anywhere .. the situation is messed up .. we're 10 people living in the house and each one of us needs to go somewhere different .. but we should arrange it so we would go and come back at the same time .. i just wish our country was more civilized and allow us to drive like all the women everywhere .. this is the ONLY country in the whole world that prohibit driving for females .. i do understand the reason behind this .. people here don't drive properly coz they don't beleive in rules .. no one follows the rules that's why we have alot of car accidents .. and i know if they allowed it at first it's gonna be a chaos .. you'll find alot of traffic accidents .. cars being chased and traffic jam .. this is normal until things settles down we need like 5 more years to get used to this new situation .. but this is a step we should take to follow the revolution .. or we're gonna still be behind and it's true what they say about our country that we're the 3rd world country .. if i was a guy i would just grab my key and go anywhere :P:P this is one of the reasons that sometimes i have these thoughts of wishing i was a guy just to have my freedom lool

I never beleived that i do need summer training until last year .. i dunno why but i always thought summer is for fun and relaxing and i wanted nothing to do with dentistry .. but last year it hit me that my CV is preactically empty and i have no work experience anywhere .. so i just thought why not take a summer training like everyone .. they always used to say it's so much fun and exciting and i didn't figure out what's the exciting part about it :S .. i guess it's because they could meet the guys and the can talk and get to know each other without anyone watching them .. well i hate those people whose aim from this training is to hook up with some guy or a girl .. this is totally wrong because it should be professional and it's a work place .. so taking a training with this kind of intention and not because they wanna work or learn really make me despise those people .. i beleive in this saying ( don't s*** where you eat ) .. it means don't mess around in your work place because you have a reputation and people do talk about each other all the time .. with my experience with summer training i think it was very useful .. i've seen cases i would've never seen in the univeristy .. i've learned some new techniques .. just listening to what someone who had work experience has to say is quite enough for me .. what i didn't like is guys acting weird and try to be more friendly .. well i think it's not their fault because they beleive that every girl has this intention when she joined the training .. it's the impression they have of the girls and i don't blame them because sadly 90% of the girls are those kind .

jeddah is our beautiful city but in the summer i really really do hate it :S .. i hate going out anywhere .. the only place i can go to is the beach coz most of jeddah's real people are there .. going to shopping malls and coffe shops has became unbearable coz it's really crowded with people coming from all over the kingdom .. from places you never heard of :P lol .. close minded people who judge you and give you this creepy looks .. i hate it when people judge me in this way coz we're somehow more open people .. besides it would take you double the time to reach where you usually go because of the traffic jam and our car is chased by those creepy guyz whose never seen girls in their l ives :P it's just become annoying and the best time to go out is in the mornings or the afternoon .. at night it gets annoying
and what's making it worse is the severe heat plus the humidity which ruins my hair and my make up lol :S .. i just wanna get out of heeeere and spend my summer out of this country :P jeddah is not ours in the summer
and of course jeddah '3air !!! coz it sucks loool

of course you all know this series and i think everyone has seen it .. i was thinking that day if that show is completely fiction and not related to real life but i realized it's not .. maybe it's too dramatic lol they exaggerate in everything but it's based on true charecters that really do exist in our feild .. and these relationships do exist due to the fact that doctors spend alot of time together .. more than spending time with people outside .. we're human beings and this is normal .. i've noticed it but the difference is that here in our society it always end up with mirrage lol .. well not always but most of the time .. i'll give you an example
christina yang - i've seen alot of christinas :P eager and very competetive to be the top of their class and i don't really like those people coz they really piss me off lol you can actually see them try so hard by sucking up to the doctors and they just wanna be noticed
meredith - those kind of girls who thinks she's the most beautiful and she uses it to try to have the best catch .. the flirting kind of girls i mentioned lol and of course these kinds are famous and everyone knows them as the hot girls :P
bailey- the strict and rude instructor which everyone hates but eventually on the long run they like her when they get to know her
izzy- the emotional type .. who loves the patients and get involved with them .. she seems stupid and naive but she's a hard worker .. i think i'm an izzy :S:S and i hate myself for this coz people take me for granted which bothers me the most
george - the kind of people who doesn't make a difference .. wether they are there or not they are not that much noticed lool
mcdreamy and mcsteamy - well the hot shot guys :P who know they're a good catch and they know they had the spot light so they walk around with their heads high knowing everyone is checking them out and they always hook up with the hot girlz
alex- the jerky type who plays around and flirt with girls then leaves them - these are the worst type and btw they don't even have the looks but they have this fake confidence i dunno why :S
so they do exist coz i've been comparing and categorizing people to which type they belong :P i dunno this idea just hit me yesterday while i was watching it and it was amusing so i thought why shouldn't i write it !!

it's an amazing feeling when you actually got NOTHING to do .. if you slept all day it wouldn't matter the world is not gonna fall apart :P .. it's okay to waste your time coz you've got plenty of that time that needs to be occupied .. i miss this feeling .. this is why i love the summer vacation .. but does this feeling last for long ?? i wish lol this is how i feel for the first week of the vacation .. if you asked any medical student what r his or her plans for the vacation they'll just say i wanna sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep till forever loool .. coz they've been deprived from sleeping for a very long time .. after that we go through this phase of realizing that there's something missing which is hard work :P so we do tend to take summer training which is not required by the way .. you're not obligated to do it .. but we seek stressing ourselves coz this is the kind of life we're used to .. we're not used to having free time and we'll get bored if we have nothing to do .. there isn't a middle solution ,, we hate studying and work but still we hate having nothing to do lol so what should be done about that??
