finally i'm so glad the moment has come :) really what a releif ..we've been living in a tension for this whole week and i'm tired of waiting .. too much waiting was getting on my nerves lol it's like the silence preceeding the big storm !! i don't really care how i did in the exam i'm just glad it's done .. now that we have started it's just a blink and voiala ! we're done :D being optimistic is very important and we really need to be in high spirits so we can get over this and not let the stress control us .. take things easily and relax coz it's gonna be a hell of a month !!

it's the end of the year .. everyone is running around trying to finish up whatever they have left wether it's requirments or clearance .. i hate this clearance thing coz eventually it makes you realize that you have alot of missing stuff lol i know alot of girlz who discover that she has something missing and she totally forgot who took it from her ,, that day one of the girlz was saying never give your stuff to people you don't trust enough to return it to you .. and of course you'll find that you lost some instruments from the CSSD .. at least a tray :P and these stuff are quite expensive :S i asked the assistant how much will it cost me if i lost a handpeice and the coupling she said 10,000 riyals !! damn it's too much ..
another thing is the lab work ,, you're working through the whole year and the lab doesn't bring you the bill so you wouldn't know how much each case cost.. but at the end of the year when they finally get you the bill you'll be shocked of how much you owe them .. what i know is that it won't be less than 3000 riyals ..
so get your wallets ready coz you're gonna be broke this month lool except if you have generous parents who wouldn't mind paying all these expenses :P

you all know the fact that we are the geeky kind of students .. so we do tend to compete in who's gonna get the higher grades :P .. i've seen that alot of (A) students who would have clues from the doctors on what are the important chapters that we should concentrate on or what's the common questions ,, they would rather keep it to themselves instead of telling everyone so that everyone would benefit from what she knows .. it's known that somehow guyz are more helpful with each other considering finishing the requirments or copying a sheet that someone wrote to the whole group .. you can feel that they actually work as a group and they don't envy each other for the fact that this guy finished his requirments first or because the doctors helped him out .. on the contrary they are so NOT sensitive concerning this subject and they work as one hand .. for example all the class would agree not to study for a specific quiz or skipping a session so that if the dr found out that the whole group took zero or no one attended they would cancel it .. the guyz would all not come or not study .. but for sure you'll find couple of girlz who would study or attend although she agreed to be with group but she wants to take the credit to herself and i've seen this alot .. i'll give you another example .. the girls made a decision that they all should not do the re evaluatin thing for the perio cases so if no one did it then they won't reduce our marks for it but of course behind their backs everyone did it and it was their the idea in the first place :S .. so girlz are the exact opposite .. they envy each other .. they would keep everything to themselves .. i also heard of an incident that they steal each other's patients ..i heard of girlz calling her collegue's patient and try to convince her that she's a bad a doctor and she shouldn't go to her so she could take her for herself .. each girl wants to take and not give .. they are so selfish ..
i really don't care about competing with anyone cause the most important thing is that i worked hard and i'm satisfied with my work and myself ..
i really wish we were more simpler in treating each other and behave like a true muslims behaviour like prophet mohammed peace be upon him said ( la yo2min a7adokom 7atta y7ob le a5eeh ma y7ob le nfsih ) but nowadays people have changed .. it's really sad how we became :(

Being a dental student is NOT a piece of cake.. it requires hard work.. hard core.. and plenty of empty brain space.. and because it needs all that.. many sacrifices must be made..and many normal life luxuries must be forgotten.. it really leaves you depressed and unhappy most of the time..and might lead to the point of breaking down.. which I've seen alot..
One of the things is that u're constantly loosing or gaining weight.. ur body lives in a weight roller coaster.. u're either too thin or too fat.. since all we eat is junk food or have no time to eat..that we simply forget that we need food for energy untill we stand up and almost faint!!!
Another thing is that u're almost always emotionally and mentally stressed out.. and u're brain is storming with stuff that needs to be done.. seriously.. if u track down the things we do everyday and compare it to how things work outside ( i mean by post grads. ).. we litrarry do the work of four people all at once.. which means one mind functions as four.. the 1st is the dentist or clinition as they call it who does the work on the dental chair.. the 2nd is the dental assisstent that is supposed to be two extra hands in alot of procedures.. the 3rd is the person responsible for the dental files and records that deals with the details of opening the patients' file and booking the appointments.. the 4th is the college students that's supposed to study.. do researches.. present presentations.. and attend lectures fully awake!!..
don't u see.. four-in-one... what a package!!!
The last sacrifice I personally experiansed it a couple of times and I've heard many girls feel the same way.. it the loss of ur social tolerance& adaptability with people outside the college and the sever mood swings (this I've almost managed it :) ).. u sometimes really get the point that u can't stand shallow people who only care about what should i call them.. stupid stuff???... and u also forget how to tolerate some social formalities that u end-up rejecting alot of invitations just because u don't have the time nor the energy to do it..
To be honest.. for a girl of our age this price is too high.. and somethings that are lost may be unrestorable.. I really can't blame anyone for what we are dealing with.. coz we did choose it with our fully functioning brains.. although many girls do regret their choice after they learned the fact that our profession is not that profity as it used to be (i think u all know what i mean... balash nitkallim fe alsiyasa :P )..... lol

i remember a long time ago :P when we used to still be in school .. we had to wear uniforms which in my opinion is somehow more convenient lol coz you just don't have to wake up EVERYDAY and think what should i wear today ?? it's pretty tiring .. sometimes i just wanna wear anything and get out of there coz i'm already late ,, and now i think scrubs made this possible :P it's the best outfit ever and when we have started wearing them it made life easier .. at the beginning of the year when all the girlz suddenly started wearing them they chose some pretty weird colors such as shining orange or fuscia lool .. which pissed the commity off that they had to arrange a special meeting just to ban them .. well i think this is personal freedom .. people express themselves through their clothes .. they said the doctors complained from the colors?? come on it doesn't make sense coz again people everywhere are free to wear whatever they want ,, i do understand making us wear head scarfs and a labcoat that wouldn't be tight enough to show our bodies ,, they have the right to do that coz it's somehow improper to show things that aren't supposed to be seen :P .. but talking about colors ?? this is just too much .. and what's more weird is that they talked to us about our shoes color :S and head scarf color .. and the make up !! i don't understand why ?? alot of people just can't get out of their house without a bit of something on their face .. it's just to get a color so you don't look pale like you just woke up .. but this is considered MAAAAKE UP to them !! lol
eventually they want everyone to have the geeky appearane ..considering that fact that we're gonna be the future doctors .. with zero make up,, big thick glasses and pimples all over our face :P looool

Hello everyone..
Soso has taken the microphone for a while.. now it's my turn :)
Today and many times before I witnessed something that left me almost speechless.. but before mentioning these thing.. I must say.. we are all human & have the right to screw-up every once-in-a-while.. but to do it almost every time.. that is being careless and stupid.. and as both of us ( soso & myself ) agreed not to generalize anything.. then i'm not talking about everybody.. just the little group who know themselves :P
The thing is when you do something either u do it right or simply don't do it.. not because you have a time limit or a number of requirements to fulfill or simply because u're not in the mood then u think u have the right to do crappy work on REAL HUMAN BEINGS!!!!..
I've seen it with my own eyes.. very very bad work and covering it with an even worse filling.. as one of my friends once said.. some girls really think they're working in a dead tissue.. they start with the high speed bur and go Herooooooo (as in going so fast so deep at once & creating a hole!!!!!!) now that's carelessness.. am I right??
And I know certain girls who work on patients that might have a severe illness but because they didn't care to ask the simple question of " are you sick?? or do u have any sort of disease? or do u take any sort of medication??" three forms with the same answer.. seriously I can't help but think that maybe I'm using a contaminated clinic with some sort of fatal disease just because the girl before me was careless enough to neglect that simple question!!
Really sometimes I try not to think.. but the number of careless people is becoming larger and larger that maybe one day the carelessness will become normal & the cautiousness will become abnormal...
I hope that day never comes while i'm still in the building :P

honestly this subject really annoys me coz i think it's really unfair for the patients ,, again i wont generalize it .. it's for specific people who knows themselves lol .. considering people as if they are requirements .. they don't even remember them by their names?? like once i asked someone for a patient's number she said she doesn't remember her name .. so i asked her how can i get her number she told me to take it from a girl and tell her ( the one who had class 2 for the exam ) ..
come on guyz she's a human being who has an identity and you identify her as class 2 !! :S that's why at the beginning of the year they gave us this lecture about how to deal with the patients and that doctor patient relationship must be there ...
and what's more unfair is when they have exam they just do the class 2 or 3 and leave the rest without completing the treatment .. well maybe they're in 4th year and they can't do crowns or rpds ,, why don't you ask your collegues if they know someone who can complete her treatment .. it's pretty easy and you can find alot of people who needs crowns or bridge or whatever the patient have .. if we worked together we can ensure that the patients get the full treatment ..
another thing , girlz who brings 2 or more patients just to make sure they're gonna work this session so they tend to ask more than one patient just in case one of them didn't show up so she'll have backup ,, but wut if they all showed up :S .. i've seen alot of girlz passing by the clinics in every session especially operative and trying to distribute extra patients ,, what if there's no one who's free to work for her?? simply she'll just send her home coz she didn't need the spare .. did you even consider how much trouble she went through to get there??? ethically this is so not acceptable .. plz people don't forget who you are ,, we are all human beings ,, not the fact that you are a doctor you would look down to people .. you're not better than those people .. we're all made of dirt .. and god created us all similar .. so those patients who were not fortunate enough to get a treatment in private clinics shouldn't be treated this way ,, coz the only reason they would risk coming to you when they know for sure you're still a student and you're not experienced at all ( most probably she'll be your first trial :P) is because they can't afford going to a private clinic ,, so please be more humane and try looking at it from this aspect what if you had bad cirumstances that you were in their shoes ,, would you like to be treated this way ??

plzz guyz dont hate me for this :P lol .. but i've noticed that alot of people complain about the requirements which they say it's too much and it can never be finished ,, well this is not completely right coz it does finish but on one condition if you're working through the whole year since day 1 in the first term .. in this way by the end of the year you'll find yourself done in the last week before the final .. if they reduced the requirements i think we'll have more time to study for the finals as for now ther'e just 1 week left other than this week ,, and we're still finishing requirments .. and if you're smart enough you should spend more effort on studying coz most of the grades are distributed on the academic part .. i've seen alot people skipping alot of sessions and coming late ,,and those are people complaining :S .. of course i'm excluding all the unlucky people who got dumped by their patients or they couldn't find good cases or the lab work is delayed which is the lab's fault not theirs ,, they have their excuse of not finishing which is bad luck !!

well that's true 100% and i'm sure of this fact coz i've seen it with my own eyes ,, actually it's really funny coz people think no one notice well everyone is watching lol and u can see it all ,, alot of girlz bring their finaces or their b/fs to the clinic!! .. at the break time mostly ..coz whenever a new face is present in our area we tend to ask who is this?? does anyone knows him ?? lol and alot of girlz told me stories of these incidents and what's more funny is that patients also date in the clinics ,, some of them use it as a chance to see their b/fs during their appointments i dunno why maybe coz they have strict parents lol
one of my friends told me about a story of a girl who had a patient i think it's was operative session ,, anyways suddenly her b/f was at the door of the clinic and surprise !! looool with the rubber dam in her open mouth she was sooo embarrased :P
well it's risky coz i think there's a commity for reporting these people ,, so i wouldn't dare bring a date to the clinics :P and to be honest this is your work place ,, you shouldn't do this in your work place coz it's unproffesional !!

i've just realized and it hit me that 3 more weeks till the finals :S no let's say 2 weeks and 4 days :P the situation is getting out of hands and i can smell the stress in the air !!i'm starting to freak out i don't want to spend the summer studying :s damn this term had passed by very quickly that i didn't even feel it .. it's really strange it feels like i closed my eyes and opened them again like a blink .. of course it's too late for me to realize this cause seriously i'm in deep s*** .. when will i find time to study alll these subjects i have plus what we took in the 1st term is included .. i'm sure we're all in this situation together :P it's not just me .. besides we're still going to the university to finish the requirments and we go back home late at 6 .. honestly when i'm back home i can't move from the exhaustion ,, and i'm in no mood of studying ,, i just wish a miracle would happen and we have 1 extra week to stay home and study :P.. i think i should start from now and the best way is to do a schedule even if i didn't followed it exactly at least it gives me the push to just sit on that damn desk and start .. plzz god help me and help us all ,, i'll pray for everyone to get through this 2 months .. i know it's the worse

this thing really pisses me off ,, and it's not anyone's fault ,, i think because we're living in society were males and females are separated through their whole lives as i said earlier ,, and when they start their career they'll be shocked coz they have to deal with the other gender .. what i hate the most is people misunderstaing your actions .. for example when a guy is just being nice and polite coz he's a gentelman so an incidence happens that he opens the door for a girl passing by behind him .. he's just being polite ,, what do u think is going on in the girl's mind ?? he had a crush on me and he's hitting on me in an indirect way :s come onn ,, lool of course i'm not just talking about the girls ,, this implies to the guyz as well .. if i just thought of asking some random guy a question about anything or a favour he would say why is she talking to me ,, i'm sure she means something else .. :S well this is not gonna be fixed in a day and night coz this is twisted saudi mentality which seriously needs modifications ,, we should start treating each other like co- workers or collegues and not mix it with out personal life ,, sometimes you should not consider everything as a way of flirting coz people have different intentions

it's friday 11:43 pm .. i'm extremely exhausted ,, every muscle in my body hurts from head to toe .. i hate this feeling :(( .. and just the thought that tomorrow i'll wake up at 6:30 or 7 make this feeling worse ,, i just have 6 more hours which is so not enough for me .. i know i'm supposed to be asleep right now instead of writing this but i feel bad and i need to let it out :P lol i have no one to complain to so this is the best way to just let it out .. last day of the weekend is the worse when you feel you have to prepare yourself for the next day .. wether you have a quiz or a clinic you should study or call the patient .. it sucks lol

OK.. this subject really pisses me off!!
Every year there is the end of the year ceremony for the male section.. in this ceremony almost always there is a play done by the students.. it really is fun..cause i attended it two years ago.
but for the last two years if has been forbidden for us the female students to attend.
Why?? you might ask..
Because there is male contamination in the auditorium. as if the male students will flip their heads 180 degrees to watch every move of the females on the balcony. or maybe the females will dangle their head from above the rail to see the males. DAH!! (ana eash fahhamne!!)
the funniest fact I've known this year is that female INTERNS who were not allowed to attend LAST year are NOW allowed!!... ya sub7an allah I think it has something to do with not having exams!!.. 7atta one of the interns we passed by that day said.. I guess we transformed into males this year ... LOL
On Sunday I was in the elevator with a female student a female staff member.. I don't know exactly what happened but from what they were saying I figured that it had something to do with the rule that female students are not allowed in the male intern area.. one them said.. isn't there females in Saudi Board Clinics?? and isn't the only way to those clinics is to pass through the intern clinical area??.. the other one replayed.. yes there are females there.. but what could we do about alta5allof?? (ana ma 8olt shay!!)
And yesterday.. or let me say every day.. you might notice a number of females standing on the entrance of the Males College (where all the doctor's offices are located) on the 1st floor.. trying their best to pursue the security to let them in to talk to one of the doctors.. but she would refuse bikol 8owa to let them in. why??
because there are males like ants !! as if we don't deal with male doctors in the sessions!! or do they miraculously become female immune once they enter the female clinical area ...
seriously I don't know..
the funniest thing too it if I told the security I needed to visit the SDS office.. she would willingly let me in... SUB7AN ALLAH!!
I really don't know when are we going to enter the new century??
maybe it will happen when we find a pesticide or a disinfectant for this contamination..

i keep wondering .. why do people think medical female students are desperate ? well maybe because it's a fact and not all guyz know about it .. but i've seen samples of these kinda girls .. sorry girlz but these facts has to be said coz i can't keep watching this and not say it .. and ( ally 3ala ra9o ba67a y7assis 3aleeha ) so i'm not talking in general ,, there are a few girlz and i don't mean to generalize it over all the girlz ok? so take no offence in what i'm gonna say .. i've heard alot of girlz talking about who's the best catch and why don't we try to hook up with him ,, especially the residents .. if you're a single resident then you're so lucky you're being observed :P some may think they will not graduate and leave this university without a husband .. why is that ?? come on you're gonna be exposed to the real world and you'll meet alot of other new people and you could have a better chance .. i dunno i think the girlz aren't supposed to be seeking out guyz and throwing themselves at them.. the situation is supposed to be the exact opposite :S ... i heard of a group in facebook i dunno what's it's name but it's about this ,, a group of girlz in medecine or dentistry saying they should not leave the university without a ring on their finger :S that's kinda weird coz this is not how things work out .. if a guy is meant to be with you it's gonna happen ( kol wa7id wa na9eebo ) so you should just wait and don't try so hard to show off and seek popularity coz it's obvious if you're trying hard and this shows how desperate you are !!!

sitting here lying on the couch & i keep thinking daaamn my back really ache :S .. well this is the price i'll pay for choosing this speciality ,, it's a known fact that all dentists have problems in their backs and i've noticed alot of them have this humped back & i'm talking of dentists who have been working for 20 years or more not the juniors like us :P ,, i've seen this study which was done in the conference about back pain which students complain from and statistics were done .. i really liked the idea of this poster coz it's a fact that not alot of people pay attention to ,, i know it's my fault that i didn't train myself in the first place to be working in the right position ,, honestly i don't follow any rules or even care of how i sit i just try to adjust myself to reach the best view .. an advice for people who didn't start working in the clinic please take care of this point and train yourselves to work with the proper position coz this is how you'll work all your life if u start wrong you can never change
